about

'Deep Dream Decoder' is the third album from the 4-CD box set 'My Secret Studio (Vol.1)', originally released in 1995.
The tracks contained within all 4 albums were compiled from a vast archive of previously unreleased recordings made between 1988 and 1992.

"Between the years 1988 and 1992 my life underwent some severe changes…both emotional and financial. During that time I used my home studios to create sketches of songs for further development with a projected band. The band, for various and nefarious reasons, never materialized. These ‘demos’ are all that remain of my hopes, fears and dreams from that period. Each song was created in the space of a couple of hours, composing spontaneously to tape. There were no attempts to ‘polish’ the material. What you will hear is the raw stuff of dreams, instant songwriting with a vengeance. Nothing here is state-of-the-art, merely ‘state-of-the-heart’. In 1995 I spent a considerable amount of time choosing material from these archives to assemble as an outgoing series of very personal albums. ‘MY SECRET STUDIO’ is the end result of that work, distilled from over 300 recordings. That fountain still flows and there will be more albums to follow…I hope you will find something here to enjoy."
